Search engine submission


To increase exposure to your site, you can add yourself to search engines so that people searching will find your site. Here are the steps you should take in order to increase traffic to your site.
  1. Always give your pages a title that's very descriptive of that page. This is usually very important with search engines.

  2. Include META tags on all your pages. To do this, include the following tags inside the header of the file, between <HEAD> and </HEAD>.
    <META name="description" content="write a short description of page or company">
    <META name="keywords" content="write keywords separated by commas">
    These tags will be used by search engines when their automatic search bots come and scan your entire site. They will help the search engine categorize your site and pages more accurately so that people searching will find more accurate results.

  3. It is recommended that you go to the major search engines sites and add yourself manually. There is usually a link to add your url on all major search engines. For yahoo, allow approximately 6 to 8 weeks before your submission takes effect. To test if your site has been added, go to those search engine sites and do a search for your domain name.
