Configure Microsoft Exchange

  • Application: Microsoft Exchange

  1. Double-click My Computer.
  2. Double-click Dial-Up Networking.
  3. Double-click your Internet connection icon.
  4. Enter your username and password. (If not already there)
  5. Click the Connect button.
  6. Wait for Dial-up Networking to connect.
  7. Click the Start button.
  8. Click Run.
  9. In the Open field, type ftp ftp.microsoft.com
  10. Click OK.
  11. At the User prompt, type ftp
  12. Press the Enter key.
  13. For the password, type your email address.
  14. Press the Enter key.
  15. Type cd /softlib/mslfiles
  16. Press the Enter key.
  17. Type bin
  18. Press the Enter key.
  19. Type get inetmail.exe
  20. Press the Enter key.
  21. Wait for inetmail.exe to download. Downloading the file should only take about a minute.
  22. Type bye
  23. Press the Enter key.
  24. On the desktop double-click inetmail.
  25. This will install the Internet Mail Service for Windows 95. Do you wish to continue?
  26. Click Yes.
  27. Click Yes again.
  28. Microsoft Internet Mail Service Installation Complete Successfully.
  29. Click OK.
  30. Close any applications that are still running and restart your computer.
  31. Wait for the computer to restart.
  32. Make sure that the box to the left of Internet Mail is checked.

  33. Click Next.
  34. Make sure that Modem is selected.

  35. Click Next.
  36. This window should be your Internet Connection. If not, Click the down arrow and select your connection.

  37. Click Next again.
  38. In the field next to Specify the name, type mail.yourdomain.com

  39. Click Next.
  40. Click Next again.
  41. In the E-mail address field, type your email address.
  42. The Your full name field can contain whatever you want it to.

  43. Click Next.
  44. In the Mailbox name field, type your Domain username (First 8 letters of Domain)
  45. In the Password field, type your password.

  46. Click Next.
  47. Personal Address Book.
  48. Click Next again.
  49. Personal Folders.
  50. Click Next again.
  51. When you see would you like to run Microsoft Exchange when you start Windows 95? click Next.
  52. Click Finish.
  53. To send or receive messages, click Tools and select Deliver Now.
